The DFM
Engineering team have considerable experience handling
large
optics typically used in telescopes.
We have engineered mirror handling systems to safely allow
technicians to remove, reinstall, and collimate the optics.
The mirror handling equipment often consists of hoists, mirror
insertion tools, carts, crates, lift tables, slings, and fixtures.
We have provided mirror handling systems specifically designed
for the size and configuration of the optics in our telescopes
and to work within the available space in the observatory.
